At the end of 2023, the YMS along with Beth Way – the current conductor of the Concert Band – made the decision to merge with In Full Swing.
The current fee structure and contact details for Beth and the band can be found below:

The Young Music Society offers School Holiday programs throughout the year. Each program is designed to give students musical experience and opportunity in a supportive environment, guided by Canberra’s premier musicians and teachers.
YMS no longer offers the instrument hire program.

The Young Music Society is a Canberra-based, national award-winning, self-funded, not-for-profit society, which musically inspires young Canberrans through Holiday Programs, Weekly Programs, special events and Instrument Hire.
Any family can become a Member of the Society for an Annual fee of $30, which provides access to all of our programs.
Enrolments Always Welcome
The YMS CONCERT BAND will once again commence rehearsals in Term 1, 2024. The conert band rehearses Saturdays during Public School Terms, from 9:00am to 10.30am. The venue for Term 1, 2024 will be announced soon.
New enrollments are always welcome – just turn up for your first free session or email the YMS office to register. Ages 9-18, beginners welcome.
